C'mon Man! FMS105

That cute little diecut thx fit perfectly in my lettered leaf!  And I am happy to report that thx to me Emma is saying her first word!  And it is not Mama or Dada or Grandma.....darn!  First let me explain that we are a dog family and with my own dog and "grand dogs" there is always a dog or two or three here. We go outside - a lot! I take Emma out first and fasten her in the stroller. Then I open the back door, grab the leash(es) off the hook and holler "C'mon Abby (or Baxter or Adi or Silas) let's go - c'mon!"  As I grabbed a leash earlier this week I heard a little voice behind me say "C'mon, c'mon!"  Of course we had to have several re-enactments during the day to show off her new vocabulary! So the dogs win - Mama, Dada and Grandma will have to be patient a while longer!

Her father is now working hard to get her to say "C'mon man!" Those of you who watch Sports Center on ESPN know what I am talking about!

If You Dare - PPA172

I am one who would not dare!  I don't like to be scared so I avoid movies that make you scream and Halloween haunted houses - unless it is the Disney version.  I like to think my card is more like the Disney version with friendly little ghosts inside.  My daughter's college roommate visited from CT this past weekend and said she was looking forward to the annual Haunted Halloween experience in her town again this year.  You enter by lying down in a morgue drawer that is slid closed and then you emerge on the other side........whew no thanks!

Stamp Sets Used:  Fun Faces (retired)
                             Off the Grid (background)
                             Best of Halloween (top border)
Halloween Bash (label - I didn't ink up the word eat and inserted Admit One snipped from the top of the ticket image)

Holiday Jingle - FMS104

I confess I love jingle bells - from the big sleigh bells to the teeny trinkets on this card.  I also love holiday traditions - especially ones that I make up myself. One such tradition involves holiday decor. When a holiday is over I pack up everything in one fell swoop.  If something escapes my eye during that time it has earned the right to stay out for a whole 'nother year till the holiday comes around again. Right now there is a wooden pilgrim sitting on my bedroom bookshelf.  He has had a much better year hanging out with me instead of being wrapped in tissue paper and packed away. But I won't forget where he is this year! I also confess there is a Christmas votive on an end table in my living room. And what does all this have to do with jingle bells?  Well one year I forgot to put away a cluster of bells I had hung on a cupboard in the kitchen.  Such fun to hear them jingle every time I opened that door!  So I conveniently forgot them the following year and the year after that. Finally this summer the string broke and my husband gleefully threw them away. Oh I am on the lookout for new jingle bells to hang somewhere this holiday season......somewhere that will be very easy to forget........

A Passing Hi! PPA171, RS#81

Just riding by to say hi after a very busy weekend!  Sweet Miss Emma turned one and had her very own photo shoot in the yard. Then we celebrated her real birthday informally on the back porch followed by another celebration on Saturday with the whole family. So I was glad to sneak in some stamping time today - after a nap :)

Everyone in the Pool! FMS103

Must be the 90 degree heat wave that derailed me from my fall cards - I just had to make one last splashy summery one! Probably because summer has made a brief return to upstate NY I had to pull out those bright colors.  That designer paper even looks like cool rippling water!  It should be sweatshirt weather again by the weekend so then I will happily pull out warm fall tones.  But in the meantime - Pool Party!

Pals September Hop - Cool Tools!

                        2013sephop_badge

Welcome to the Pals September Blog Hop! This month we are showcasing projects made with some of our favorite crafting tools! You are right on track if you hopped here from Amy's blog!

Stampin' Up's envelope punch board is my favorite new toy....oh sorry tool :)  The punch board is proving to be much more than an envelope maker. This nifty little file folder card was made using the new punch board and is just the right size to tuck in a couple of lottery tickets for a grown-up Halloween treat! The buttons and twine keep the card closed, ready to be tucked into the envelope. Also love those new framelits that create envelope liners - so easy to make with the Big Shot and the new magnetic platform - more toys!

Tools Used:  Envelope Punch Board, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Envelope Liner Framelits, Paper Snips, Craft Scissors

Now hop on over to Stampin' Pretty for a visit with the amazingly talented Mary Fish.  Thanks for stopping by!

More Thankful Thoughts....PPA170

I am continuing with my fall appreciation week with this card using some warm fall colors and burlap.  And I am thankful that fall brings the return of football and the start of our fantasy football season. By some amazingly good luck and Tim Tebow's playoff run in Denver I actually won the league one year!  So I sat down yesterday to get my team set for this week's games and I noticed an e-mail from Yahoo - our host site for the league.  Something new this year - the experts at Yahoo send you an in-depth e-mail critiquing your team.  So thanks Yahoo for sending me such a sweet e-mail ranking my team C for cellar and telling me I did not "capitalize on my fortuitous draft position" and that I have the worst group of running backs in the league.......way to ruin the moment..........

Pals Paper Arts has a terrific color challenge this week and it works very nicely with The Paper Players Fall Challenge!
