Stamp Review Crew: SAB Free for All

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring Sale-a-bration sets today. There are so many wonderful items to choose from!  I used the set Avant-Garden along with Carried Away Designer Paper.  Love the colors on that designer paper so that is what I went with:  Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, Smoky Slate with Pear Pizzazz for my stems.

And just an update on my card classes at the library this week - it was great fun!

Our Library Director even joined in the second class!

It is such fun to see people get excited about their creations! Hope our blog hop inspires you to do some of your own creating!

Don't miss Debra's wonderful work......head back there if you did!

If you are right on track then your next visit is with the always amazing Bronwyn Eastley!

I based my card on the sketch from Cas(e) this Sketch this week!

In High Spirits....FMS272

Hot Air balloons just seem to make people smile so I hope this card will do just as it says and lift someone's spirits!  And I must say the picture below lifted my spirits! Doesn't everyone attend their very first Monster Truck Rally wearing a monster truck shirt and a black tutu adorned with silvery sparkle stars and red cowboy boots?  The boots were chosen because they matched the ear muffs.....of course they do......this gal can accessorize!

I love the cluster of shapes in this week's Freshly Made Sketch!  My very talented friend Cecile designed it - join us!

Every Card Has A Story......Fusion

The plan was simple: make a card - have lunch - go to work at the library.  Just as I started stamping lemons and limes the dishwasher repairman came.  I headed downstairs to discuss the problem then left him with the big guy to work it all out. Back upstairs I rechecked the sketch on our Design Team blog because I had forgotten where to put the sentiment.  There I spotted Karren's gorgeous lemon and lime card so I scrapped my card and started over using flowers. Soon there was a request from the kitchen.....can you bring down a tape measure??  Sure thing.....then back upstairs to stamping. And then I heard....do you know where the dishwasher manual is??  Yes I do and it seems no one could possibly find it but me......then back upstairs to stamp. And what was all that noise in the cellar?  My curiosity got the best of me so down two flights of stairs I go to find the repairman and the big guy looking for clamps, boards and wire.....not good. Then it was back up to the kitchen for another conference on my one year old dishwasher.  An incorrect installation had caused problems.  Four separate issues would be fixed - while I finished my card.  But it just wasn't meant to be. All too soon I got called back down to learn about filters and shut-offs.  And then the dreaded "Let's just watch a cycle and see if everything is fixed."  Mojo had definitely left the building......

But there's good news:

........my dishwasher is now working great
.......my son showed up with a pizza for lunch
.......freezing rain and icy roads closed the library so I took a nap

And the bad news:

.......I still put the sentiment in the wrong place!

There's great inspiration at Fusion this week!  I used the Jar of Love stamp taking my inspiration from both the sketch and the picture.  Hope you join us!

Random.....FMS271

I'm leading a class next week at the library with folks who have never ever stamped before. I thought the set Super Duper would be a perfect starter set! This card will let everyone play with bright inks, use markers on the stamps for a multicolored sentiment, and then do some random stamping to create a background panel.  And about that random stamping........anyone else struggle to make things look "random"?  It took me three tries to get a panel that I liked!  Guess I will bring some extra pieces of white along!

Speaking of random.....doesn't everyone play foosball wearing a Troll headband?

Cindy Hall has a great sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Hope you join us!

Big Day!.....FMS270

The big guy and I are both football fans with one big difference......he prefers college games.....I prefer the NFL......and "playing" in our family Fantasy Football League. (Have I mentioned that I won the league this year?!?!?!) A lot of football games are watched here every season!

I often craft while watching the games and I created this card during the Alabama/Clemson championship game. Congrats to all my stamping Clemson fans out there.....this card's for you!

I love Kim's long tall sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  It was perfect to showcase this stylish gal from Beautiful You!  I watercolored her outfit with Zig Markers and an Aquapainter - loving the orange and gray together!

Special Days.......FMS269

I am excited to host the first sketch of 2017 at Freshly Made Sketches and look forward to another year of great designs! It feels good to get back into my craft room after a break for the holidays. We had lots of snow, family time and adventures these past two weeks - everything from Disney on Ice to sharing the stomach bug! Only Gram escaped it but she did take a fall and ended up in the ER for x-rays.  When the doctor asked her what hurt she replied - "Everything! I'm 91!"

No broken bones just a bump on her elbow so we were out the door quickly.....which meant we had time to stop at McDonald's for large fries and a coffee - no stomach bug for Gram!

My sketch is wide open this week - hope you play along! I love to visit your galleries!

Stamp Review Crew: Swirly Bird

Happy New Year!  The Stamp Review Crew is kicking off 2017 with a blog hop featuring Swirly Bird.  I have used this set for so many different occasions but my favorite way to use it is for a baby card.  And it just seemed fitting to welcome 2017 with a baby card!  I used some brand new Designer Paper called Carried Away with Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, Peekaboo Peach and Night of Navy. The sentiment is from Made With Love.

Meanwhile we welcomed in the New Year with a lot more snow......which just makes us all happy!

If you missed Artisan Sue Plote's wonderful work head on back!  Otherwise your next stop is with the terrific Valerie Moody!

I used the sketch from Can You Case It? to design my layout.
